ZoomAway Travel Provides Booking Solution for PGA TOUR Event
ZoomAway Travel (TSXV:ZMA – $0.17 CAD & OTC: ZMWYF – $0.17 USD & Frankfurt:4ZO – €0.11), will provide spectators, players, caddies and event volunteers of the Barracuda Golf Championship a real time booking tool for all of their travel and recreation needs.
The prestigious Barracuda Championship, an official PGA Tour event, takes place between July 31 and August 6, 2017 at the Montrêux Golf & Country Club in Reno, Nevada.
This will be the very first event where ZoomAway offers its complete suite of services:
- The RMS (Registration Management System) will be used by the Barracuda Championship to handle all its ticketing needs;
- The White Label Stay & Play platform will enable visitors to book a room along with tickets for the event, parking, etc. Note that ZoomAway has agreements with several prominent hotels in Reno, which have between 800 and 2,000 rooms each; and
- A Room Only Interface that allows players and their families, caddies, and event volunteers to book a room through a secure and private website.
The entire platform will be online in a few weeks, ready to handle its first bookings.
“This is a significant step for ZoomAway and our technology platforms. Not only are we collaborating with the Barracuda Championship, an official PGA TOUR Event, we are putting all our technology to work within a single website,” said Sean Schaeffer CEO of ZoomAway Travel Inc.
The ZoomAway Difference
ZoomAway Travel has created a proprietary software platform which enables business and leisure travelers to add activities, such as golf reservations, ski lift tickets, spa appointments, concert tickets, tours, charters and various modes of transportation to hotel room bookings at a discounted rate.
At this moment a big majority of the hospitality industry does not have a one-stop technology solution to package recreation, activities and transportation in conjunction with overnight accommodations. Hotels all over the world are perfectly equipped to book room reservations. However, they can’t handle complex customized quotes from guests because they simply don’t have the manpower nor the technology to do so.
ZoomAway, on the other hand, has created a technology that allows guests to book their rooms, to book the tee time at their favorite golf course, to book transportation systems, or to buy lift tickets for a particular ski resort. All in real time. ZoomAway’s clients truly reap the benefits of its platform without having to add any employees.
The hotels and service providers that ZoomAway works with offer the Company discounted net rates. Those net rates are then marked up and create the margins and profitability for ZoomAway.
The PGA Tour (officially rendered in all capital letters, as PGA TOUR) is the organizer of the main professional golf tours played primarily by men in the United States and North America. It organizes most of the events on the flagship annual series of tournaments also known as the PGA Tour.
Originally established by the Professional Golfers’ Association of America, it was spun off in December 1968 into a separate organization for tour players, as opposed to club professionals.
The PGA TOUR places a strong emphasis on charity fundraising, usually on behalf of local charities in cities where events are staged. With the exception of a few older events, PGA TOUR rules require all events to be non-profit.
The Barracuda Championship brings in millions of dollars in coverage for the Reno-Tahoe region through its affiliation with Golf Channel as it follows 132 PGA TOUR professionals competing for a share of the tournament’s $3.3 million purse.
The ZoomAway technology platform will offer the players, caddies, event volunteers, and spectators a convenient and cost effective tool. “This level of service could very well set a new benchmark,” said Chris Hoff, Tournament Director of the Barracuda Championship.
Needless to say, this is another significant achievement of the ZoomAway team. Think about it. The Barracuda Championship, as part of the PGA Tour, is one of the major golf events of the year. The fact that this organization entrusts its all-important ticketing and booking solution to ZoomAway means a lot.
Moreover, the cooperation with the Barracuda Championship could open doors at some of the other 47 tournaments that are part of the PGA Tour. Buy recommendation.
